Working together

It's a collaborative process

Let’s work together to create ideas, clarity and impact!

I believe it’s important that client and designer work together; after all, you’re the expert on your business. You can trust me to listen, question and guide you through the process.

It is my job to ensure the final solution meets the brief, talks clearly to your target audience and looks fantastic.

The process:

First contact

Please use my contact form to tell me about what you need for your business. I'll then send you a link to book in a free 15 min consultation call with me.

I find it’s easier to have a chat through your project over the phone first, to make sure I understand your business and your brief. Once I have a clear picture, I will send you my quote.

Project agreed

You agree the quote, timescales and pay the project deposit. You will also need to provide any files or assets, such as logo files, brand guidelines, photography or words. Now it gets exciting!

Project kickoff

This is where I get to know you and your business in more depth, usually via our project kickoff call. Depending on the project, I may also email you some questions in advance. Following this, I'll send you a project schedule, so you know when to expect designs from me and when I'll need feedback by.

Stage 1 design concepts

I will send you initial concepts for you to review. It will include some of my process and thinking to help you understand the rationale. Depending on the project this may also include moodboards, a flat-plan (for brochures) or photography suggestions.

Stage 1 feedback

I prefer to receive feedback via email, so that I have a clear brief to refer to. We can then discuss on the phone further if needed. This is your chance to give constructive feedback on the designs and check the accuracy of any content. I will respond to your feedback, confirming the changes and/or suggesting alternatives where appropriate, before going ahead.

Stage 2 designs

You will receive your revised designs, incorporating all the feedback we discussed.

Stage 2 feedback

Your chance to give final feedback on the revised design and check all the details are correct.

Stage 3 design

You will receive your revised designs, incorporating all the feedback we discussed.

Approval

I will ask you to approve the final design before preparing the artwork for print, or finalising any files. Once you have approved the design, any additional changes will be subject to additional charges.

FAQ

Can I keep on making changes? All estimates include 2 rounds of amends as standard. If you think you're likely to need ongoing changes, that's not a problem, but it won't be included in my fixed price quote. Any extra amends will be charged at an hourly rate. For full details, see my Terms & Conditions.

What counts as an amend? Moving graphics or photos and text around the page means there will be layout changes and that’s a major revision. Rewriting or resupplying large amounts of text is also a major revision. However, changing a short text phrase here and there is usually considered a minor revision.
